Our Work

Madison High School Expansion was a project for the Oakland Unified School District.

As native Oaklander’s we take pride in this project as it brought life to the school campus for students to enjoy while providing an inspirational environment so students can achieve their academic goals. We installed new drought-tolerant plants along with a new automated irrigation system that complies with California’s Model Water Efficient Landscape Ordinance and Bay Friendly guidelines. Additionally, Artificial turf was installed in the amphitheater area and large courtyard. This High School expansion increased student capacity by 147 students.

The Central Kitchen is a project that will produce 35,000 healthy meals for the students of Oakland Unified School District.

The project is a 43,000 sf centralized kitchen that has ADA accessible vegetable planters, bioswales to treat water on-site, and the entire project itself is an edible fruit garden, which has many fruit trees including olives, almonds, limes, pomegranates, and herbs. Central Kitchen is an educational garden that will teach kids how to propagate seeds in the greenhouse; transplant to the vegetable gardens; harvest their own food; finally moving the product to an interactive small kitchen where kids will make their own meals. As OUSD alumni Angelina and Emmanuel are proud to have been part of this project that employed many Oakland residents and will continue to feed healthy meals to our immediate community.

The Cherryland Community Center is a 17,500 sf facility that will serve the Cherryland Community. The facilities will include multi-purpose rooms, a prekindergarten room, a catering kitchen, a large community room, and a courtyard that can accommodate up to 240 people. The Rath Residence is located in Oakland Hills. This was a very unique project as it was a collaboration between the Landscape Architect, Dillingham Associates, the Owner, Mr. Rath, and Native Soil Inc.

The architect provided the original and amazing concept and plan and with suggestions made by a collective thought process and expert construction knowledge the final product was beyond beautiful. The most unique amenity to this residence was the fire pit area that we created, surrounded by Sonoma Fieldstone that retains heat in a spectacular natural way, the owners now enjoy a glass of fancy wine while overlooking the Oakland Hills. We also did major grading and increased the grass area's width, allowing for a large recreational area for the grandkids to play in.

We used a drip line for the grass terrace in order to protect the natural wood planters and avoid runoff and overspray into the fire pit area. Materials were carefully selected by the three parties and the final product was a blend of synthetic decking, with natural wood, and natural stone creating a beautiful masterpiece that is functional and aesthetically pleasing. Other amenities include a natural gas fire pit, natural stone water fountain, hot tub deck, natural stone steps, and terraced planters for veggies and roses.
